Where the line reaches

Radcliff is home base, with Fort Knox to the north and Vine Grove to the west. US 31W runs south about 11 miles to Elizabethtown, which makes the drive between the two towns straightforward.

If your address is outside those three towns, call anyway. The dispatcher confirms coverage on the phone, so you do not need to guess. Rural properties just outside the city lines are more likely to be on a septic tank or a private well, which changes which plumber is the right fit and what the first questions are.

Radcliff, the home base

Radcliff has more than 22,500 residents and sits between Fort Knox to the north and Vine Grove to the west. US 31W runs through the east side, and KY 447 crosses the south, where the old community of Rogersville stood. Those two roads are how a plumber reaches most Radcliff addresses, so the dispatcher asks which one you are closest to.

Because Fort Knox brings steady turnover, many Radcliff homes see new owners and tenants every few years. A house that has changed hands often has had repairs by many different people, which is a good reason to ask for a camera look at the sewer line when something keeps backing up.

Vine Grove, west of the city line

Vine Grove had 6,559 residents at the 2020 census, up from 4,520 in 2010. KY 144 is its Main Street, and KY 313 runs through the northern part. The same water district, Hardin County Water District No. 1, supplies both towns.

Fast growth means newer homes next to older ones, so one street can hold both copper and plastic supply lines. The plumber checks which you have before choosing parts. The Vine Grove page goes deeper.

Elizabethtown, the county seat

Elizabethtown has 31,394 residents and sits about 11 miles south of Radcliff on US 31W, with I-65 passing through its southeast side. Its main ZIP is 42701, and 42702 is a PO box ZIP. The city has its own sewer tariff, so sewer questions here go to a different utility than in Radcliff.

Older downtown buildings and newer subdivisions mean very different pipe ages within a few miles. See the Elizabethtown page for how the line works there.

Fort Knox area, Muldraugh and Rineyville

These communities do not have their own pages, but the line reaches them. Fort Knox ZIPs 40121 and 40122 are about four miles from Radcliff, Muldraugh 40155 is about five and a half, and Rineyville 40162 is about seven and a half.

Some addresses on or near the base are served by different utilities and rules. Give the dispatcher your exact street address so the right plumber is sent, and mention whether you are on city sewer or a septic tank.

Water and sewer vary by address

Hardin County Water District No. 1 supplies Radcliff and Vine Grove, and it operates the sewer systems in Radcliff and Fort Knox. Elizabethtown has its own sewer tariff, and Hardin County Water District No. 2 serves other parts of the county. Which utility owns the pipe at your address decides who fixes what. A quick call to the district or city, with your street address ready, settles it.

When you call, mention whether you are on city sewer or a septic tank. That helps the dispatcher send the right plumber.
